China's first set of national standards for intelligent interconnection is released: GB/Z 185-2026 issues "digital identity codes" for intelligent entities

The first set of national standards for intelligent agent interconnection in China has been officially released: GB/Z 185-2026. As a guiding national standard, the core is to assign a unique digital identity code to each agent, and to unify identity and interface specifications to promote trusted collaboration between agents on different platforms and different manufacturers. With the emergence of a large number of various types of AI agents, the islanding problem of "unable to recognize each other and coordinate coordination" has become increasingly prominent. This standard is the "national team" solution to address the pain points of this industry.

Unique digital identity code: the cornerstone of governance and collaboration

The unified identity code is equivalent to the "ID card" of the intelligent agent, making identification, authentication, traceability, billing and responsibility determination possible - this is the technical prerequisite for trusted collaboration and also reserves the starting point for subsequent supervision. It is foreseeable that the identity code mechanism will become an important infrastructure for intelligent agent security auditing and accountability, and is also the first piece of the puzzle to open up the "agent island".

"Soft constraints + strong guidance" of guiding national standards

GB/Z is a guiding technical document and is not mandatory. However, as the first set of national standards, it has a strong vane effect: it will guide platform manufacturers and developers to move closer to unified specifications, and there is the possibility of upgrading to mandatory standards in the future. For China's intelligent agent ecosystem, this is an important infrastructure dividend - under a unified identity system, a domestic ecosystem of multi-agent collaboration is expected to be formed, and it will strive for the right to speak in the formulation of international standards.

From the perspective of industry rhythm, this national standard has brought the previous "individual competition" of intelligent agents back to the track of "interconnection first, then competition".
