The latest survey report from the US enterprise expense management platform Ramp shows that DeepSeek topped the platform's "Software Trend List" for the first time, becoming the fastest-growing software supplier. This signal appears against the backdrop of soaring AI costs for U.S. companies: one company paid 500 million for Claude in one month, Uber exhausted its entire Token budget in four months this year, and Amazon and Microsoft are also suspending or reducing internal AI tool subscriptions.
Ara Kharazian, chief economist at Ramp, said bluntly: "This may be the clearest signal so far that U.S. companies are actively looking for low-cost alternatives to OpenAI and Anthropic." Looking back at the beginning of 2025, DeepSeek R1 topped the U.S. App Store, but the popularity of individual users and the enterprise market are of a different magnitude - Ramp 's business spending data more truly reflects the actual purchasing behavior of U.S. companies. But it needs to be viewed calmly: DeepSeek is still in its very early stages, after reaching 0.3% in U.S. enterprise adoption, which has dropped back to 0.1%.
